How to Prepare for Your Walk

1

Check the Weather

Coastal conditions change quickly. Bring a light jacket even on sunny days. Wind can pick up in afternoon, especially near the crest paths. Check forecasts the night before.

2

Wear the Right Shoes

Sturdy walking shoes with good grip work best. The boardwalks are safe, but sand can be loose in places. Avoid flip-flops—you'll want support on the longer walks.

3

Bring Water and Sun Protection

Even on cooler days, the sun reflects off sand. Sunscreen matters. Bring at least one liter of water—fountains exist but not everywhere. A hat is essential on open routes.

4

Plan Your Timing

Early morning (7-10am) is quieter and cooler. Late afternoon light is beautiful but brings wind. Avoid midday sun unless you're on the shaded pine paths. Most walks take 1-2 hours.
